Bitter orange spritz

Instructions

  1. Build in the glass. Fill large wine glasses with ice and add 3 ounces of the aperitif to each.
  2. Top. Add 3 ounces of sparkling wine and a splash of soda water.
  3. Garnish. Tuck an orange half-moon into each glass.

Hosting tip: Always pour the bubbles last and gently down the side of the glass so the spritz keeps its fizz.

Make it ahead

Mix the juice and syrup base up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerate. Add sparkling water only when serving.

Questions

Is non-alcoholic sparkling wine alcohol-free?

Many brands contain up to 0.5% alcohol. Choose one labeled 0.0% if guests avoid alcohol completely.

How do I keep it fizzy at a party?

Keep the base and the bubbles separate. Put the base in a dispenser and the sparkling water on ice beside it, so each glass gets fresh fizz.

Can I make it for more people?

Yes. Use the servings button next to the ingredients. Every amount updates automatically, from 1 glass up to 200.
