Mexican hot chocolate

Mexican hot chocolate

Instructions

  1. Heat. Warm milk and water over medium heat until steaming.
  2. Melt. Whisk in the chocolate, cinnamon, and cayenne until melted.
  3. Froth. Whisk hard or use an immersion blender until foamy, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Serve. Pour into mugs with a cinnamon stick.

Hosting tip: Mexican chocolate tablets come in round boxes in the Latin aisle. Semisweet chocolate plus extra cinnamon works too.
