Mint julep mocktail
A Derby day classic made with mint syrup, a hint of vanilla, and crushed ice.

Instructions
- Make mint syrup. Simmer sugar and water until dissolved. Remove from heat, add mint, and steep 20 minutes. Strain and chill.
- Mix. Stir the syrup, vanilla, lemon juice, and cold water together in a pitcher.
- Serve. Pack glasses with crushed ice, pour over, and add a big mint sprig.
Hosting tip: Crushed ice is the whole point. Pulse cubes in a blender or crush them in a towel with a rolling pin.
