Baby shower mocktails
Drinks the guest of honor can enjoy too. Pretty, big-batch recipes and a simple drink bar that looks great in photos.
Choose drinks that match the party
Showers are usually daytime, two to three hours, with lots of photos. Pick drinks with color that look good in clear glasses and coordinate with your decorations.
For a pastel theme, the grapefruit spritz comes out a soft pink. Add berries and mint for a garden look.
Keep it safe for the mom-to-be
- Use pasteurized juice. Store-bought, shelf-stable, or refrigerated juices are almost always pasteurized. Skip fresh-pressed juice from juice bars and farm stands unless it's labeled pasteurized.
- Watch the caffeine. If you serve tea-based drinks, label them so she can choose.
- Check the labels on mixers. Most ginger beer and sparkling cider are alcohol-free, but some brands make alcoholic versions that look similar.
How much to make
For a 2-hour shower, plan on about 3 drinks per guest. For 20 guests, that's 60 drinks, roughly 2½ gallons. The party calculator will do the math for your guest list.
Set up a shower drink bar
A small drink station frees the host from pouring and doubles as a photo spot. Use a clear dispenser, a cute menu sign with the drink names, and a bowl of garnishes. Our mocktail bar guide has the full checklist and table layout.
Name the drinks. Give each drink a name that fits the theme on the menu sign. It's free, guests love it, and it shows up in every photo.
